What We Do

The Sexual Assault Crisis Center (SACC) was established in 2008 and focuses on three primary areas of intervention:

Service Provision

SACC offers specialized support to those affected by sexual violence, encompassing social, psychological, and legal assistance. A 24/7 hotline is also available at (+37477991280).

Awareness Initiatives

With over 15 years of dedication, the SACC has spearheaded over 30 public campaigns and training sessions. These efforts target regional governors’ offices across all regions of Armenia, the Armenian Police, the Republic of Armenia’s Investigative Committee, and professionals including social workers, psychologists, and lawyers.
Awareness campaigns are conducted with students, parents, women of various ages and others, including through social media, with the aim of preventing incidents of sexualized violence and making our services more accessible.

Advocacy

SACC is committed to fostering a more gender-sensitive perspective on sexual violence. A central aim is to encourage the legal system to adopt a victim-centered approach and to enhance legislative responsiveness to the issue. The objectives of the advocacy activities of the SACC are as follows: break the silence, improve the legal and judicial systems, and promote the introduction of state support programs, effective mechanisms to prevent sexual harassment in educational institutions and workplaces, and a nationwide response system.
Our goal is to create an environment where every person who has been subjected to sexualized violence will feel safe to talk about what happened to them and to demand a fair trial.
