Our story
The Sexual Assault Crisis Center was founded and has been operating in the Republic of Armenia since 2008. The reason for the establishment of the Sexual Assault Crisis Center was the sexualized violence incidence among young women and the gap in support services in the country, which the Sexual Assault Crisis Center came to fill.
The Sexual Assault Crisis Center is an organization guided by feminist principles, with its activities aimed at supporting and protecting the rights of victims of sexualized violence.
Vision
To have an environment based on the principles of equality, non-discrimination and respect for dignity.
Mission
To contribute to the introduction of gender-sensitive public policies and the empowerment of victims of sexualized violence.
Our major achievements
Thanks to the long-term work and efforts of the SACC, the issue of sexualized violence in the Republic of Armenia is being raised and is on the agenda.
Adoption of draft amendments to the articles under Chapter 18 of the RA Criminal Code “Crimes against sexual freedom and sexual integrity” /December 2014/.
The SACC also contributed to adding the ban on sexual harassment in workplace in the Labor Code of the Republic of Armenia /July 2023/.
