Our team

Tatevik Aghabekyan: Program Director

Tatevik graduated from YSU’s department of Psychology and Philosophy in 2005. In 2007, she received her Master’s in psychology from the National Academy of Sciences.  

In 2008, she coordinated the establishment of the “Sexual Assault Crisis Center” NGO. Over the past 9 years, Tatevik has worked both with governmental and non-governmental organizations to create critical partnerships for the organization's activities. From 2011 to 2013, she worked on a draft of amendments and supplements on Chapter 18 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, titled "Crime against inviolability and sexual freedom" (Articles 138-142), which was adopted on December 21, 2013.

 

Siranush Davtyan: Psychologist

Siranush graduated from YSU’s departments of Psychology and Philosophy in 2010. In 2012, she received her Master’s in Clinical Psychology. She is currently a postgraduate student in Social Psychology at YSU.

Since 2011, Siranush has been working at the “Sexual Assault Crisis Center” NGO as a psychologist-consultant, providing individual psychological counseling to sexually abused women and minors (as appropriate to their families). She also carries out self-help group work and personal growth groups for individuals subjected to sexual violence.

 

Anna Hovhannisyan: Advocacy Specialist

In 2011, Anna graduated from YSU’s department of Social Work, and continued to receive her Master’s from the Social Policy and Administration Program at YSU in 2013.

Since 2015, Anna has been working at the “Sexual Assault Crisis Center” NGO as a social worker and in 2016 took on the role of advocacy specialist, promoting an anti-discriminatory approach towards women’s issues, particularly in the area of gender-based violence. She has worked and continues to work with international women's rights organizations, policy makers and service providers to promote gender sensitivity and inclusion in the field.
